Welcome to Trezor® Setup
Congratulations on your new Trezor® hardware wallet! This page will guide you through the official setup process to ensure your cryptocurrency is secured safely. Trezor® devices are designed to provide maximum security while keeping your digital assets easily accessible.
Step 1: Connect Your Device
To begin, connect your Trezor® device to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Ensure that your device is powered on and the display is active. Trezor® will prompt you with instructions directly on the device screen.
Step 2: Install Trezor Suite
Download the official Trezor Suite application from the official website. Trezor Suite provides a secure environment to manage your cryptocurrencies. Follow the installation instructions for your operating system and open the application once installed.
Step 3: Initialize Your Device
Trezor® devices need to be initialized before use. You can either create a new wallet or recover an existing wallet using your recovery seed. The recovery seed is a series of 12, 18, or 24 words that acts as a backup for your wallet.
- Choose “Create New Wallet” if this is your first device.
- Choose “Recover Wallet” if you have an existing seed.
Step 4: Set a PIN
For added security, set a PIN on your Trezor® device. The PIN protects your wallet in case your device is lost or stolen. Avoid using easily guessable numbers, and never share your PIN with anyone.
Step 5: Backup Your Recovery Seed
Write down your recovery seed carefully and store it in a safe place. Never save your seed digitally or online, as this could compromise your assets. Trezor® will guide you through confirming your seed to ensure accuracy.
Step 6: Start Using Your Trezor® Wallet
Once your device is initialized, you can start sending, receiving, and managing your cryptocurrencies securely. Trezor® supports a wide range of assets and integrates with multiple wallets and exchanges.
Security Tips
- Always use the official Trezor website: trezor.io/start
- Do not share your recovery seed or PIN.
- Keep your Trezor® firmware updated.
